Man City SACKS manager for poor maintenance of facility valued at  £200m

Maintenance Manager at Manchester City Mark Muncer has been fired following concerns and complaints about the general upkeep of the Premier League champions’ £200 million complex.

According to an exclusive from Daily Mail on Wednesday night, concerns were raised over the “temperature of the water in showers” used by Manchester City players, issues over “broken doors” and enquiries made into the time it was taking to repair said faults – repairs that were under the watch of Muncer.

However, some officials feel Muncer has been scapegoated and is unfortunate to have been shown the door after nine years at the Etihad.

The City Football Academy was officially opened in 2014, at an estimated cost of £200 million – and now houses all aspects of the Manchester City squad, from the women’s set up to youth academies.

The facility itself spreads over 80 acres, featuring player accommodation and a 56-seat auditorium used by manager Pep Guardiola to deliver lectures to his players. The venue also includes a staggering 16 pitches and a 7,000-capacity arena used by the older setup of the club academy and the women’s side.
