Man United pursuing Benfica striker Darwin Nunez’

Manchester United Plan  transfer for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez during the summer transfer period.

Nunez was one of Europe’s breakthrough stars of this season and scored no fewer than 34 goals in 40 games for Benfica.

However, Benfica has attached a price tag of £ 68 million to the 22-year-old striker prior to the summer period.

According to TalkingNunez would be enthusiastic about the prospect of playing under the new United manager of the club, Erik ten Hag.

The 22-year-old wants to be part of the reconstruction of United and the Red Devils help restore their dominance in the Premier League.

Nunez is currently one of the most sought-after young strikers in world football, after an astonishing season in which he scored 34 goals in 41 appearances.

United has been strongly associated with Nunez in recent months, whereby Ten Hag is considered a big fan of the Benfica star.

The youngster impressed in the Champions League this season, scoring goals in both quarter-finals against Liverpool, a brace against Barcelona and also found the back of the net against Barcelona and Ajax.

However, Nunez’s desire to enter the Champions League could diminish United’s chances of landing him during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils failed to qualify for Europe’s most prestigious tournament after a miserable campaign in which they finished sixth.

As mentioned earlier, a maximum of 10 players are expected to leave this summer, because Ten Hag wants to make a new start.
