Man Utd chase for Jadon Sancho moves into fast lane

Manchester United have been put on alert for transfer target Jadon Sancho as cash-strapped Borussia Dortmund “firmly expect” a move.

The Red Devils were linked with the Englishman throughout last summer, battling the German side over his €120m valuation.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side did not budge, though, deciding to leave pursuits for another transfer window.

But Dutch outlet Sport 1 has reported that this could some sooner rather than later due to financial struggles at the Westfalenstadion

The Bundesliga side set €120m as their “desired” price for the forward, who has six goals and 13 assists this season.Unfortunately coronavirus has sent their losses grow to €100m throughout the pandemic.

This means that Dortmund chiefs Hans-Joachim Watzke and Michael Zorc would “probably” let the forward leave for “less money”.

And the report states that they are “firmly expecting” Sancho to now move somewhere else due to their need for cash.

The 20-year-old became a priority target for United over the summer after making 20 goals and 20 assists for the German side last season.

They even managed to “agree” personal terms with the Englishman – but the hefty fee Dortmund put on his head proved too much.

Fans have been warned, though, that they should not expect a deal for the Englishman this month.

German football expert Raphael Honigstein said: “Everybody in Dortmund knows nothing will happen in January, the player is not agitating for a move.

“There’s a very clear agreement that transfers of that magnitude at Dortmund will only happen in the summer.”
