Man Utd go after Ibrahima Kanote

Manchester United have been told by RB Leipzig that £43million is the fee they must stump up if center-back Ibrahima Konate is to move to Old Trafford, according to reports.

Recent reports have indicated that United and Arsenal are keen on the 20-year-old, who has only made five appearances in all competitions this season due to injury.

The Red Devils are said to have opened talks with the representatives of the France Under-21 international and the latest claim from Todofichajes is that Leipzig have told United their valuation of the player.

Konate, who made 43 appearances last term, moved to the Bundesliga side from Sochaux in the summer of 2017 and has three years left on his contract.

The source adds that Konate is now United’s “priority objective” and that the Red Devils are aware that only significant investment will be enough to turn their recent fortunes around.

Indeed, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have shown that in spades in recent transfer windows, including with the acquisitions of Harry Maguire for £80million last summer and Bruno Fernandes’ arrival at Old Trafford in January.
