Man Utd set Pogba’s deadline with bosses in ‘regular conversation’

Manchester United have set a Christmas deadline to thrash out a new deal with Paul Pogba.

The midfielder, 28, has less than 12 months remaining on his current contract and is free to talks to clubs in January, as it stands.

United want the situation resolved to avoid any unnecessary disruption which could overshadow a potential title bid.

According to The Sun, club bosses have been in regular conversation with agent Mino Raiola in an attempt to broker a new deal.

It is believed that terms on a new contract could top £400,000-per-week, a huge improvement on his current reported wages.

Pogba has been linked with a move away from United for some time but there is a growing belief he will remain at the club.

It is understood Old Trafford chiefs have grown more and more confident they will be able to keep Pogba for the long term.

Since returning from the European Championships, Pogba has been in excellent form for United.

The midfielder has featured in all seven of the club’s games in the Premier League, making a significant impact in each one.

He already has seven assists to his name this season, eclipsing his total from the whole of the last campaign.

It is believed Pogba has welcomed United’s impressive summer signings, with the capture of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho a real sign of intent from the club.
