Man Utd to play three friendlies in Northern Ireland
Manchester United will play three friendlies in Northern Ireland this summer.
The Manchester Evening News says United’s youngsters are set to play three friendly matches in Northern Ireland next month as the club looks to commemorate the anniversary of their Milk Cup victory in 1991.
30 years ago United won the U16 section of the prestigious youth tournament when they defeated Scottish side Hearts in the decider at the Coleraine Showgrounds.

David Beckham captained a United side which featured the likes of Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Robbie Savage and was the first trophy won by the famed ‘Class of 92’.
United first entered the competition in 1989 and have continued to take part in the tournament – now branded the EFL Cup – in subsequent years, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood both having starred in the past decade.
To mark the 30th anniversary of their win United’s youth teams will play in three games against Northern Irish opposition between July 26-30.
The first match is scheduled to take place in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area on Monday July 26 and a second match will take place in the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area on Wednesday July 28. The final match will take place on Friday, July 30 in the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council area.
