Man Utd  to spend preseason in Malta

Manchester United are in talks to spend preseason in Malta.

United are considering a training camp in Malta has announced a partnership with Visit Malta last season.

The Manchester Evening News says United are still working on a possible itinerary but any trip to Malta would depend on UK government travel restrictions.

Restrictions in Malta will be eased from May 10 and the country has been identified as possible inclusion in the government’s ‘green list’ for countries to travel to without having to quarantine. The government is due to confirm the green list countries on May 17.

Should United head to Malta it would mark their first visit to the country in 21 years. United beat Birkirkara 5-1 in an August 2000 pre-season friendly in front of 7,614 fans that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored two goals in.
