Man Utd transfer target Camavinga dashes Solskjaer’s hope, ‘favours move to Spain’

Manchester United have been dealt a blow by reports that Eduardo Camavinga favours a move to Spain over the Premier League.

The 18-year-old has just one year left on his contract, with it understood that he has no intention of extending his stay at Roazhon Park.

It was claimed earlier this month that the Red Devils were eyeing up a £26million bid to lure the teenager to Old Trafford.

Chelsea are another club that are believed to have held talks with his agent Jonathan Barnett, along with LaLiga giants Real Madrid.

And while his priority is to stay in France to join Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal are said to have made him their No1 target.

Yet according to the Manchester Evening News, Camavinga’s preference is a move to Spain amid strong interest from top-flight sides in England.

The report adds that United have held discussions with the Frenchman’s representatives that were described as ‘not encouraging’.

Camavinga burst onto the scene towards the end of the 2018-19 season where he became Rennes’ youngest-ever player at just 16-years-old

His fine form saw him be called up to the France squad last August, where he became Les Bleus’ youngest debutant since Maurice Gastiger in 1914.

SunSport revealed this week that United are drawing up a list of midfield targets amid mounting fears they will be forced to sell Paul Pogba.

The Red Devils are preparing the prospect of £89million record signing Pogba quitting United for a second time.

His Old Trafford contract expires in summer 2022 and he has given no indication as yet that he is willing to commit to a new one.

And Leon Goretzka is thought to be a key target as United look to take advantage of the German’s similar stand-off with Bayern Munich.
