Manchester United got their EPL campaign on a winning note by defeating Leicester City 2-1 at the Old
Trafford on Friday evening. Below are the Player ratings for United
De Gea
He may have conceded a goal in the dying minutes, but De Gea proved the hero for Manchester United. He
made a superb save in the 29th minute and another from Demarai Gray. 7/10
Matteo Darmian
Not to fantastic and made some mistakes. 4
Eric Bailly
Solid in the defence and difficut to penetrate by the Leicester attackers. We expect more of such
performance from the Ivorian international this season. 8/10
Victor Lindelof
He had a better game in the second half after a quiet first half. 5
Luke Shaw
He scored his first career goal and was involved in the game from the beginning to the end. 6/10
Andreas Pereira
He had a good game. Played with grit and guile in midfield. 6/10
Paul Pogba
Scored United’s opening goal from the penalty spot. He was confident with the ball. It was expected
from the France international who is still basking from the World Cup euphoria. 7/10
Fred
He adjusted easily to the high tempo of the game despite his first season in the EPL. He was
substituted in the second half after a good game. 6/10
Juan Mata
He wasted an excellent chance to make it 2-0. 4/10
Alexis Sanchez
Another disappointing night for the Chilean even though he won the penalty. He made so many inaccurate
passes. 4/10
Marcus Rashford
He had an average game and Jose Mourinho wasted no time in bringing him out. 5/10
Subs
Romelu Lukaku
Squandered a great chance. 3
Scott McTominay
Shored things up. 5
