Manchester United reportedly have Thomas Tuchel on their managerial shortlist, should they dismiss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The PSG boss has impressed Old Trafford chiefs in recent months, according to French outlet Le10 Sport.

Tuchel’s team top Ligue 1 by a whopping 12 points after a stellar start to the season.

And Le10 Sport report that United, along with Bayern Munich and Barcelona hold an interest in the coach.

However, it hasn’t been a good week for the manager, who has been battered by criticism from a host of different figures ahead of PSG’s clash with former side Borussia Dortmund.
“In terms of last season’s results, Tuchel is the worst coach since the Qatari takeover,” the 60-year-old said in an interview with DPA.

“He is still far from the level of Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola or Carlo Ancelotti.”

Meanwhile, Dortmund historian Jan-Henrik Gruzecki also had some choice words for the PSG coach.

“He made a lot of tactical mistakes,” Gruzecki told RMC.

“In big matches, Thomas Tuchel demonstrated that he is not one of the best coaches in Europe because he is not able to win big matches.

“He has never won big matches with Borussia Dortmund.”

Funke Sport journalist Sebastian Wessling spoke about Tuchel’s relationship with defender Mats Hummels, who left Dortmund in 2016.

“Tuchel felt that Hummels was sometimes poorly positioned in matches and took too many risks moving out of the defence too early, leaving gaps behind them,” he said.

“Thomas Tuchel really didn’t like that, he wanted a more conservative style of football from the centre-back and Mats Hummels didn’t want to deliver that.”
