Marco Stiepermann, Norwich path ways on mutual agreement

Norwich City have announced Marco Stiepermann has left the club, after a mutual agreement was reached to end his contract.

Stiepermann signed for Norwich from German outfit VfL Bochum in the summer of 2017. Over a four-year spell he would go on to play a total of 119 games for the club, scoring 12 goals.

The German has two Championship winners’ medals to his name.

Stiepermann told canaries.co.uk: “When I first joined Norwich I never expected the amazing four years that followed. I have found my second family in Norfolk and I learned so much about how amazing the football club is. It’s a big family.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to experience two promotions and have been able to play in the Premier League. It has been the greatest time of my career.

“Moving to England in the beginning was quite tough, but on my first day the players and staff were amazing at helping me settle in the area. It’s a great gift from the Norwich people – they make those not from the area feel at home.

“I have never experienced a dressing room and staff like it before. My teammates from day one have been amazing. Russell Martin and Phil Lythgoe were the first to offer help with everything. Then there are so many amazing people behind the scenes – too many to name!

“I’ve had four amazing years with the head coach and his backroom staff. Leaving the football club, I think you can say it’s more of a friendship I have with the coach. I owe him and Stuart Webber so much. They always believed in me and gave me their trust.”
