The U-20 National Team have been promised the sum of N500,000 for every goal they score against Mauritania in the first leg, final round of the U-20 African qualifiers billed for this weekend in Mauritania.

Chris Giwa led NFF board made the promise before the team departed on Thursday morning for Mauritania ahead of Friday’s clash.

Addressing the players, Giwa said the money is to motivate the players to go all the way to defeat
their opponents to qualify for the tournament proper scheduled for Niger Republic in 2019.

Only on Wednesday, the NFF assured the players when they visited the team at Chida Hotel that all their outstanding allowances will be paid just as they urged them to make the nation proud on the pitch.

Effiong Johnson, who spoke on behalf of the board during the visit, conveyed the best wishes of the NFF
President.

“So do not worry yourself about what is happening with us, just face your job, as we are doing all we
can to make you comfortable in camp.

“Whether as coaches or players, let us be focus-minded, face the task before us and avoid any
distractions,” Effiong said.

NFF board member Otunba Sunday Ajayi led the team’s delegation to Mauritania.
