Mbappe makes huge decision on Liverpool switch

Kylian Mbappe will inform Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave the Ligue 1 giants this summer – with Liverpool his most preferred destination.

The 22-year-old striker has 15 months left on his contract in the French capital and is officially mulling over his future.

The exciting forward will have no shortage of admirers. However, there aren’t many teams who will have the pulling power and funds to land the former Monaco man.

Real Madrid and Liverpool look the best placed to lure Mbappe at this point in time. However, his new boss Mauricio Pochettino has tried to gloss over the player’s uncertain future.

Despite having just a year left on his deal come the summer, Mbappe is still likely to cost around £173m.

The World Cup winner served a timely reminder of why he’s already considered one of the world’s best last month. His magnificent hat-trick at the Nou Camp saw PSG put Barcelona to the sword in the Champions League.

Now, according to Duncan Castles of the Transfer Window Podcast, Mbappe has set his heart on a move to the Premier League.

And while a move to Manchester United could be of interest, it is Liverpool where Mbappe truly wants to play.

Castles said: “He, as we have reported, is keen on moving to one of two leagues for the next stage of his career. Either the Premier League where his preference I am told would be a move to Liverpool.

“He likes Manchester United as a club, but his preference would be to work with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.”

Castles admits Barcelona and Real Madrid also remain options, though finances look an issue for both.

“Or [he wants to move] to Spain; where Barcelona are an option. But obvious financial difficulties and Real Madrid have pursued him since before he went to PSG.”
