Mbappe resumes contract extension talks with PSG

Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain have already held two meetings in the last few days as they continue to negotiate a potential contract extension for the France international whose current deal ends in 2022.

The PSG forward wants guarantees that the Ligue 1 side will compete again and try to reach the Champions League final, as they managed to last season.

According to RMC Sport, these two meetings between the two parties have gone in the direction that PSG want as they look to tie up his future.

“We are talking, we want to continue talking and I think Mbappe also wants to,” PSG sporting director Leonardo stressed a few days ago. “Now is the time to have a clearer idea about his future and we have taken steps forward compared to 10 days ago.”

If PSG were pessimistic about Mbappe’s future before, it’s been a while since they believed that it was very likely for the Frenchman to stay at the club to lead their project.

His suitors, among whom are Real Madrid, are awaiting a signal to make a move for the 21-year-old forward, who has already netted 100 goals with PSG.

Although there are several rumours circulating at the moment, especially with Neymar’s remarks regarding a hypothetical reunion with Lionel Messi, the club are clear that their priority is to reach an agreement with Mbappe’s representatives soon.
