Mbappe vents his frustrations on Neymar despite PSG Ligue 1 victory

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe failed to hide his frustrations with Neymar, despite another Ligue 1 victory.

Goals from Idrissa Gueye and Julian Draxler earned the Parisians a 2-0 win over Montpellier which moved them 10 points clear at the top of the table.

But Mbappe, who was widely expected to leave PSG in the summer, was visibly annoyed during the latter stages of the game.

The French forward came off just seconds after Draxler’s goal, but was less than impressed with his team-mate Neymar.

In footage captured by Canal+, Mbappe was seen on the bench discussing Neymar, saying: “yes, yes, he doesn’t give the pass to me”.

Mbappe started up front alongside Neymar and Angel Di Maria, with Lionel Messi missing through injury.

Messi is a major doubt for PSG’s clash with Manchester City in midweek, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side proved they are far from a one-man team.

PSG have won their opening eight games of the league season, but speculation continues to link Mbappe with an exit.

The forward will be a free agent at the end of the season and will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a new club in January.

The World Cup winner’s attitude has been questioned in recent weeks after Metz coach Frederic Anotenetti accused him of a lack of humility.

That came following PSG’s dramatic late winner, which saw Mbappe celebrate in the face of goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja.

Pochettino defended his player regarding the incident: “I understand that he was angry. That’s a natural reaction but you have to take the context into account, especially when considering that it was after losing a game in the 95th minute, so I can empathise with Fred [Antonetti] for being angry about the situation.

“These incidents cannot be taken out of context, they have to be analysed within a match in which both teams want to win and many things happen, so that cannot be used out of context.

“That doesn’t reflect the reality of who Kylian is, but I can understand the frustration on their side.”
