Messi urged to snub Premier League move

Lionel Messi has been urged to snub a move to the Premier League in order to make a “more comfortable” transfer.

The Barcelona captain will remain at the Nou Camp until his contract expires next summer when he looks likely to change scenery.

After spending his entire career in Spain the 33-year-old is looking for a new challenge with Man City appearing in prime position to complete a blockbuster transfer.

However Messi has no shortage of options from elsewhere and Argentina legend Jorge Valdano believes England would not be a good destination for his compatriot.

“I don’t know if the Premier League, which is super competitive, would be a good place for him to go,” Valdano told Onda Cero’s ‘El Transistor’ programme.
