Mfon Udoh: I am not desperate to become NPFL highest scorer

 

Akwa United’s Mfon Udoh has stressed that he is not fazed about emerging as the highest goal scorer at the end of the season but that he is thrilled with his predatory instinct in front of goal this season for the Promise Keepers.

Udoh who is currently the leading scorer in the elite division with seven goals from 10 games has scored in his last four matches for the Promise Keepers struck again in Gombe’s Pantami Stadium to help his team secure a priceless away point against Gombe United on Sunday.

The former Enyimba skipper hinted that he would be delighted to keep scoring for Akwa United and he has credited his teammates and the technical crew for his impressive stats in the league this season.

“Honestly I am not thinking about the goal scorer’s chart I am just
enjoying my game,” Udoh told the media.

“Fortunately the goals keep coming. Today we are glad to have a draw against Gombe United. It was a game we could have won but we still thank God that we are able to run away with a point. “I am so glad about my goalscoring form in which I have scored in our last four games both home and away. I praise God for the feat and I also thank my teammates and the coaches for a good job.”

Udoh’s goals have helped Akwa United to keep their place in the third position in Group B of the top-flight with 16 points from 10 games.
