Mike Tyson spotted in Wheelchair at Miami airport

Boxing legend Mike Tyson has been pictured in a wheelchair just a matter of weeks after saying his “expiration date” is approaching.

The boxing great posed for photos with fans as he was wheeled through Miami International Airport on Tuesday (August 16). He has reportedly been suffering with a sciatica flare-up, with the back issue one which he has had for a long time.

Two years ago he was left bedridden for weeks by a similar episode. He was spotted walking around New York with a cane earlier this month but it appears the current situation has worsened and left him needing the assistance of a wheelchair to get about.

A source close to Tyson played down the situation recently, telling TMZ: “It’s nothing serious, just an occupational hazard for an athlete like Mike.”

Brutal Tyson during his active days

But it’s all the more concerning as the 56-year-old issued a worrying prediction about his life expectancy last month. Speaking on his Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast, he said: “We’re all gonna die one day of course.

“Then, when I look in the mirror, I see those little spots on my face. I say, ‘wow. That means my expiration date is coming close, really soon’.”

Despite his belief that he hasn’t got much longer to live, Tyson has still been linked with a return to action. He last stepped into the ring in November 2020 for an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr.

Since then the idea of a clash with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has been toyed with. And it recently emerged that WWE star Bobby Lashley had been offered the opportunity of a bare-knuckle fight with him.

Tyson has been taking on a scrap outside of the ring in recent weeks after accusing streaming service Hulu, who allegedly produced their series Mike without his consent, of creating a “slave master take over story” of his life.
