Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, on Monday said it was sad and frustrating that he will miss tomorrow’s friendly against Serbia in London.

Mikel said he had done everything possible to join his colleagues in the British capital, but it had not worked out.

Work permit issues stopped the Eagles captain from traveling to Poland last week and England for the team’s second friendly.

Nevertheless, the former Chelsea FC midfielder wished the team good luck in a Twitter post.

“Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I will not be on the field for our game v Serbia tomorrow (Tuesday). I am sad, and frustrated, but giving my full support to the team for another WIN!” #SoarSuperEagles  —SportingLife .ng gathered from Mikel’s official Twitter handle.

When it was confirmed that Mikel would be unavailable for selection, Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr extended a late invitation to Turkey-based Mikel Agu as Mikel’s replacement.

Nigeria will play Serbia in an International friendly at the Hive Stadium, London, tomorrow at 7:45 pm. The team is currently training in London.
