Mikel shows off medals cabinet ahead Eagles return

Nigeria international John Obi Mikel has allowed the public to see his collection of medals and individual trophies which he shared on Instagram ahead of his return to the national team to resume preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles captain is eyeing his second Africa Cup of Nations title in Egypt.

The former Chelsea star is one of Africa’s most decorated players.

With Chelsea, he won the champions league, Europa and the league.

He has been crowned the African Young Player twice and just ended his loan spell with English Championship side, Middlesbrough who failed to secure a playoff spot having finished seventh on the table.

He won the Nations Cup with the Eagles in 2013 and was part of the U-20 side that finished as runners up to Argentina at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Holland.

Nigeria kicks-off campaign for their fourth continental glory in Group B against Burundi on June 22 before playing against Guinea and Madagascar, on June 26 and 30, respectively.
