Mikel still keeping Rohr in the dark over Eagles return

It is becoming very difficult to say if the Super Eagles Captain Mikel Obi would continue to captain the Nigerian football national team as his silence on when to rejoin the team has put the Eagles Manager Gernot Rohr in a difficult position.

The Franco-German Coach submitted his plans for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations to the Nigeria Football Federation in December last year where he did a detailed program for preparations and participation in the AFCON finals this year.

In the program Rohr demanded for a certain number of players to be invited for both the last AFCON 2019 qualifier against Seychelles and hosting the Pharaohs of Egypt in an International friendly all slated for the Stephen Jessi Stadium, Asaba in Delta State come March.

The way Rohr sounded while chatting with Sportinglife.ng it seems Mikel Obi may not feature for the Eagles since he wasn’t sure if the Eagles Captain still has interest in leading the Eagles again.

“We don’t know yet when or if Obi Mikel wants to join the Eagles”, Rohr told Sportinglife.ng without any further details.
