Mikel wins with Middlesbrough, Etebo loses

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi on Tuesday night heaved a sigh of relief as Middlesbrough who have gone six games without a win defeated Bolton Wanderers 2-0 in the English Championship.

Obi who has become one of the key players of the team despite only joining this season was in action for the entire duration at the Macron Stadium.

Both goals were scored by Ashley Fletcher in the first half of the encounter.

The victory would certainly give team manager Tony Pulis something to be cheer about following the turn of events which had put his job on the line.

Elsewhere, Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo ended up on the losing with Stoke City who went down 3-1 to Swansea City also in the English Championship.

The Nigerian who has suddenly become the beautiful bride provided the assist for Stoke’s goal scored by James Mcclean.

However Etebo who has scored two goals for Stoke this season received a yellow card before being replaced by  Charlie Adam in the dying minutes of the second half.
