Mikel,Nwakaeme enjoy goal bazaar in Trabzonspor victory

 

Former Super Eagles Captain John Obi Mikel  and compatriot Anthony Nwakaeme were in party mood on Saturday as their Turkish club Trabzonspor took opponents kayserispor to the cleaners.

While Mikel was in action for entire duration of the match Nwakaeme saw 73 minutes action before giving way for Ghanian import Caleb Ekuban.  It looked more like a day set aside for Tranzaspor record goal harvest as they put a dozen goal past

their opponents conceeding two in the bargain. Alexander Sorloth had hardly opened scoring in the 7th minute when Nwakaeme double the lead in the 37th minute. Visiting kayserispor were however able to reduce the tally just before the first half, but on resumption of the second half it was Tranzaspor  all the way as they netted four more goals with Sorloth and Daniel Sturridge grabbing brace each. The visitors only managed to get a second goal in the 82nd minute just to cushion the effect of the heavy defeat.

The whitewash further pegs kayserispor on the bottom of the ladder where they only boast of 10 points in 17 matches played.Trabzonspor are third on the log with 32 points in 17 matches’ just two points shy of 34 points earned by table leaders Sivasspor.

The Medical Park landlords were not only out to score goals on Saturday but did it in style dominating possession from start to finish in the ratio of 61 to 39%.
