Monaco Coach: Onyekuru’s arrival will strengthen our attack

Monaco manager, Leonardo Jardim has hailed the arrival of Nigeria international, Henry Onyekuru which he said would add bite upfront.

The Monaco manager made the disclosure during a media briefing after training on Thursday.

“Today we have more offensive solutions – Ben Yedder, Onyekuru, Balde. They have not all had the same preparation. There are still efforts to be made to be 100%,”,” he said.

Onyekuru who has been called up for Nigeria’s international friendly against Ukraine next month trained with his new teammates after signing a five-year contract this week.

He is in line to make his debut against Metz on Sunday and would like to follow in the steps of fellow compatriot, Victor Osimhen who bagged a brace on his debut for Lille against Nantes last Sunday.

His record with the Turkish side, Galatasaray scoring 16 goals in 44 matches last season where he was on loan shows that he is one of the players Jardim would be banking on.
