Morocco v Comoros:Under pressure is name of the game

 

Morocco and Comoros go into their second match under pressure. A valuable 1-0 win over Ghana gave Morocco the perfect start to their group campaign. And now the Atlas Lions know another win over debutants Comoros would mean an early qualification to the knockout stages.

Sofiane Boufal scored Morocco’s winner against the Black Stars and will be once more the target man for Vahid Halilodzic who still awaits fitness green light for a number of his stars who missed the opener.

Morocco coach Vahid Halilhodzic is very happy with the first win and does not hide his delight.

“We had an important win in a tough game against Ghana. That win served to boost the mood of the team and the players. We come to this competition with a lot of ambition. It has been a long time since Morocco won the AFCON title. We are here to do our best and we are optimistic to make the Moroccan people happy.”

Comoros head into the second match with positive attitude

“We are really focused for tomorrow’s game. Every game has its difficulties. Our team is ready, and our target is to continue making progress in this phase, then we will think about the next round. We will do everything to come out of the game with a victory.”

Despite knowing how tough the mission is against favorites Morocco, debutants Comoros seem to accept the challenge and believe in their chance comes the game day.

A 1-0 defeat in their first ever AFCON appearance against Gabon was hurtful for coach Amir Abdou and his boys, but they proved they are not the team to underestimate in such a competition.

“We are facing a tough opponent. Morocco has a solid and composed group of good players and I believe they are a team that will go far in this competition. We tried to correct the mistakes made in the last game, and believe that we will avoid them in this match.

The team is confident, and we will take this game with a positive attitude.” The odds some say favour Morocco but Coach Abdou is banking on positive attitude of his players to try and spring a surprise.
