Moses must improve–Sarri

Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has hit out Nigeria international Victor Moses to improve his game if he wants to remain at the Stamford Bridge.

The Italian who is in his first season with the Blues gave the damming report on the status of Danny Drinkwater and Moses when cornered by reporters.

He said: “I think the situation is that Drinkwater for me is not suitable for a midfield (ahead of Jorginho or Fabregas) with two midfielders. I told him two months ago what I think.

“Moses is more suitable for playing like a wing back, than a winger or a full back. Do they have a future at Chelsea? I don’t know. They have to improve but their characteristics are a little bit different.”

The Chelsea manager may have given the biggest indication that the two players are not part of his plans.

Both players have barely played this term as Sarri has continued to keep faith with the players who have helped the club go on a 15-game unbeaten run.

Drinkwater, who joined from Leicester for £35 million in 2017, has played just 30 minutes for the Blues this term and that was as a substitute in the Community Shield against Manchester City.

Moses who was a regular at right wing back under previous coach Antonio Conte, has started just one match.

Chelsea have gone from a 3-4-3 under Conte to a 4-3-3 under Sarri.

Reports have also suggested that Moses who quit the Nigeria national team after the FIFA World Cup may leave in January.
