Simon connected home a sublime header off Kader Bamba’s cross in the 84th minute before he was replaced which moved Nantes to second on 19 points

It was his  second for the French Ligue 1 side in seven games since his summer arrival from Levante on loan.

“Simon was absolutely unstoppable at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Saturday night. The Nigeria winger has endured a difficult couple of years in the European big leagues since his breakout spell at Gent, and arrived at Nantes in the summer looking to rebuild his career,” the Ligue 1 report stated.

“If he keeps playing like this, his parent club [UD Levante] might be tempted to recall him to la Liga after all.

“Simon completed 85 percent of his passes in the final third as well as having a game high four shots at goal, and his refusal to lie down was the difference between Nantes picking up all three points and not.”

Sarabia was the first on target at the Parc des Princes with Mauro Icardi and Idrissa Gueye, who also joined PSG during the close season, adding goals to put Thomas Tuchel’s side on 21 points from nine games, two clear of second-placed Nantes.

Neymar produced a convincing display, freeing up space for his new team mates to shine in the absence of the injured Kylian Mbappe.
