Moses takes stock of 2018 predicts better fortune in 2019

 

Nigeria international Victor Moses has described the out gone year 2018 as a year to remember following the high and low points that characterised the year.

The former Wigan Athletic ace who has virtually slipped into oblivion under coach Maurizio Sarri at the Stamford Bridge remains optimistic that things will turn around this year.

Moses was a major contributor to Chelsea’s triumph in the English FA cup last season under former coach Antonio Conte. Moses was very impressive in the tie that saw the Blues beat Manchester United by a lone goal.

Moses who put up a good show at the World cup in Russia despite Super Eagles below par performance has however been watching events from the sidelines since Sarri to over. The 28 year old has however refused to allow his sidelining to dampen his spirit insisting that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

“2018 was a year to remember and now it’s time to make 2019 even better. Happy New Year everyone,” he enthused

Moses sprang a suprised among soccer fans in Nigeria when he announced shortly after the world cup in Russia that he has quit international football to enable him concentrate on club assignments.  The decision became major talking point in sports circles.

While some analysts and fans alike opined that he has a right to quit if and when he desires others insisted that he was throwing in the towel too early.

Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr however hinted that the door remains open for the former Crystal palace ace should he decide to make a U-turn.  The decision to quit he noted cannot be definitive.

“We spoke already and I hope that his decision is not definitive,” the German told ESPN. “I think it depends on his motivation. If he really wants to commit himself again, he is welcome.
