Mourinho chasing €70m striker to partner with Harry Kane

Jose Mourinho is hoping that Tottenham Hotspurs would sign prolific Borussia Dortmund striker, Erling Haaland this summer, claims a report in Spain.

Dubious outlet Don Balon have reported that Mourinho has “recommended” to Daniel Levy that Spurs go after the Norway frontman in the summer.

The 19-year-old striker, who was wanted by Manchester United in January, only moved to Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in the January transfer window after blasting 28 goals for the Austrian side.

Borussia Dortmund snapped up Haaland in January after paying his release clause of €22.5m and the young striker has gone on to score 12 goals for the Bundesliga side.

It’s no wonder that Mourinho is looking at the striker, whose release clause is believed to be €70m. The Portuguese coach also wants Haaland to partner Harry Kane and will not try and sign him as a replacement

“Mourinho not only wants to retain Harry Kane for one more season, but he also wants to join him with Haland for an attack with excess power,” reads the report, translated from Spanish.

Spurs will face competition for Haaland, if the report proves correct, with Marca recently claiming Real Madrid have an interest in the player.
