Mourinho snacks in style despite ref marching orders

In a typical “life must go on posture, Roma Coach Jose Mourinho showed his pictured enjoying snacks after he was sent away by the referee in Roma win

Jose Mourinho was forced to be a spectator as Roma returned to winning ways against Cagliari on Wednesday night.

The Special One was serving his touchline ban after being sent off during the Giallorossi’s 0-0 draw with Napoli at the weekend.

Both Mourinho and his counterpart Luciano Spalletti were dismissed in the second half, with the two coaches both unhappy with referee David Massa during an intense game at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Portuguese coach was sent to the stands after being handed two yellow cards, while Spalletti was handed a red card for sarcastically applauding a second-half Massa decision.

“I wasn’t happy about the referee’s decision, but I didn’t say a word,” Mourinho said after the game. “Nobody is going home happy, both coaches were sent off, but I think the referee was balanced.”

His dismissal came amidst Roma’s most difficult spell of form under the former Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United boss.

After losing the Rome derby to Lazio at the end of September, Roma also fell to defeat against Roma, before being humiliated by Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League, losing 6-1.

Mourinho was in the stands at the Sardegna Arena and watched his team earn a valuable three points with a stirring comeback earning them a 2-1 victory.

Leonardo Pavoletti had put the hosts in front shortly after the break, before goals from Roger Ibanez and Lorenzo Pellgrini turned the game around.

Mourinho was spotted furiously celebrating Pelledrini’s goal, shouting angrily rather than showing any real joy.

He did show some happiness after the final whistle however, getting in some much needed food following the dramatic game.

After the win, he posted a picture of him eating a takeaway on some steps, with the caption: “Game over… 3 points… Nice food (can’t go to dressing room).”
