Mourinho to Alli: Fight your way back into the team

Tottenham manager, Jose Mourinho, believes it is up to Dele Alli to find his way back into the team.

Spurs managed a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend.

Alli was not involved in the game, and Mourinho felt the player’s performance in the Europa League against Shkendija was not enough to justify selection in the next clash.

Asked if it was form or rotation that cost Alli his spot, Mourinho told Sky Sports: “A bit of both.

“We start with Harry Kane, with Son, with Lucas, and then on the bench we have Lamela and Bergwijn.

“A little bit of rotation. And when the players are on the pitch they have to try to earn more minutes for the next match and for the next match they have to fight for that.”
