Moyes scores West Ham display in Man City loss at Etihad
David Moyes has called on his West Ham players to respond to a disappointing defeat at Manchester City by ensuring they turn a good season into a great season.
The Hammers, who have put together an unlikely push for the Champions League, were unfortunate not to take anything from the Premier League leaders who had to rely on their two centre halves for goals to make it 20 consecutive wins.
West Ham ran Pep Guardiola’s side close and will take enormous confidence from their showing as they prepare for a run of games that will define whether they claim a European place or not.
And Moyes has told his players to ensure they do not pass this chance up.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Moyes said: “We’re coming here and challenging the boys at the top, why don’t we look up and be positive about what we can achieve?
“We’ve had a good season up to now, we’ve got a chance to have a great season and that is the message to the players.
"We did well with the ball, we defended well and we were organised well when we had to be and we didn’t give away too many chances to Manchester City throughout the game."

“We came to the best team in the Premier League and put on a decent show.
“I’m really disappointed we didn’t get a point from the game. It was a terrific performance from the players. We came here and tried to match a top side and for long periods we did.”
