Musa Accepts Gassama’s Apology For Disallowed Goals

Ahmed Musa has accepted the apology of Gambian referee Bakary Gassama for the two goals he disallowed the Super Eagles against South Africa in last Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The match ended 1-1 but it was enough to qualify the Eagles for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon despite having a game to spare.

Musa had set up Kelechi Iheanacho for the Eagles first goal which was ruled for offside by the Linesman and with few minutes to end the match, Musa thought he had scored the winning goal following an Alex Iwobi pass, but it was cancelled.

“I will say that it was good that he realized his errors,” said Musa ahead of Nigeria’s friendly against Uganda in Asaba.

“To me it is no longer a big deal, because we have qualified for Afcon for the first time since 2013 and that makes me happy.

Musa had taken to the Social Media to vent his anger after the game.
