Nigeria international Ahmed Musa has been tipped as one of the contenders for the 2018 FIFA World Cup goal of the tournament.

FIFA has picked Musa’s second goal against Iceland along with goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo, Toni Kroos, Denis Cheryshev, Nacho, Philippe Coutinho , Dries Mertens, Juan Quintero, Artem Dzyuba, Luka Modric, Jesse Lingard and Ricardo Quaresma for the award.

Musa who was named the Budweiser Man of the Match in the Iceland game got an assist from Kenneth Omeruo before surging past  Iceland defender Arnason, and then rounded goalkeeper Halldorsson before firing the ball into an empty net.

His first goal was a volley which hit the roof of the net following a pull out from Victor Moses down the right flank with three minutes into the second half.
