Musa: Kano Pillars want to banish 2018 memory with Aiteo Cup title

Kano Pillars head coach, Ibrahim Musa has hinted that it is the desire of Sai Masu Gida to atone for the disappointment of last year’s Aiteo Cup final loss to Enugu Rangers when they face Niger Tornadoes in the 2019 grand finale in Kaduna.

Aiteo Cup title

Musa and his men were 3-0 up until about 20 minutes to the end of the final game played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba before they imploded and thus allowing the Flying Antelopes to stage a major comeback.
They thereafter lost in the ensuing penalty kicks to the angst of Kano Pillars and their supporters who were expecting their first Aiteo Cup title.
Musa told SportingLife.ng that it was difficult for him and the players to take defeat in their strides and that he vowed then he would anything to ensure that he brings smiles back to their faces.
“It was a heart breaking experience for us but we have learned a great deal from it,” Musa told SportingLife.ng.
“It was a defeat that made us to become stronger and be more determined to shame our critics. We have gone this far and we feel we deserve to win it even though we are not underatting Niger Tornadoes.
“We have trained very well and got to Kaduna on Thursday in high spirits. We have a full complement of our players. I promise to make some changes too by giving opportunity to some of our feeders players who have done well in the Aiteo Cup this year.”
