A brace from Ahmed Musa has earned him the Man of the Match after Nigeria defeated Iceland in their
second match of Group D at the on-going FIFA World Cup in Russia on Friday.

The Nigeria number 7 who plays for Leicester City of England grabbed both goals in the 49 and 75th
minute of play to make history by becoming the second African player to score two World Cup goals
after Roger Milla of Cameroon did it at the FIFA 1990 World Cup in Italy.

Nigeria broke the deadlock when Victor Moses cross down the right wing found Musa who was able to control the ball beautifully inside the box before slamming home the opening goal.

Musa’s second goal was a fine individual effort bursting through Iceland defender Kari Arnason before
rounding Hannes Halldorson to go into the net.

He also becomes the first Super Eagles player to score at two different World Cups.
His first goal was the first for Nigeria since his second against Argentina at the 2014 edition, with the Eagles going 272 minutes of play.

It was a nice way from the CSKA Moscow player to repay head coach Gernot Rohr for fielding him ahead of
Odion Ighalo who came off the bench to replace Kelechi Iheanacho in the second half.
