Musa: World Cup experience should favour Eagles

Super Eagles vice captain, Ahmed  Musa has reckoned that the team’s experience at last year’s FIFA World Cup would be an added adavntage when the Africa Cup of Nations gets underway in Egypt in June.

The Saudi Arabia based attacker spoke after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations draw held tonight in Egypt.

He welcomed the challenge from their group opponents but hinted it won’t be easy.

He however agreed that all the teams have similar chances of qualifying from the group stage.

“I must commend our opponents, They are all good in their own right. We have a young team comprising players that will be making their first appearance at the AFCON. But what gives us the edge is that we have been to the world cup and that experience should come into play in Egypt.

When asked to name the country that they would have loved to avoid at the group stage, Musa said they was none as they were prepared to take on any team.

“We are not scared of facing any team at this level because we are professionals,” he spoke on Skype aired on Supersport.

Nigeria will be based in Alexandria for all its group matches which they kickstart against Burundi on June 22, four days later they face Guinea and on June 30 tackle debutants Madagascar.
