Napoli return Mertens back to Belgium for treatment
Italian giants, Napoli have sent Dries Mertens back to a specialist clinic in Belgium, as his ankle injury has still not fully healed.
Napoli had earlier sent Mertens and Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen to the specialist last year when both players suffered separate injuries.
Mertens sprained his left ankle during the defeat to Inter in mid-December and only recently made his comeback.

However, the problem flared up again and he has been playing through pain-killing injections.
A statement released by Napoli confirmed that Mertens had been flown back to Belgium for specialist treatment on his left ankle.
It is the same treatment in the centre where he had his rehabilitation last month.
