Napoli scrabling for Arsenal midfielder
Serie A giants, Napoli are lining up a move for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira as early as January according to Italian portal Gazzetta dello Sport.
Napoli is currently in the midst of a turmoil after their players and coaching staff refused to take part in a training camp organized by chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis.
The happenings have ignited rumors of a club sale soon with a chunk of players expected to be shown the door with Brazilian midfielder Allan being one of them.
The imminent departure of the midfielder has seen Napoli earmark Torreira as their main target in the upcoming winter window with reports indicating that the Uruguayan’s agent Pablo Betancur has already told Arsenal’s chiefs that his player wanted out due to lack of playing time.
Torreira has struggled to break into the Gunners’ starting XI under Unai Emery and has often been played out of position, much to the annoyance of Arsenal supporter

The 28-year-old has previously been linked with Napoli before he completed his move to the Emirates in 2018 however, Arsenal is said to be keen on keeping Torreira at the club.
Torreira contract at the London based club runs until the summer of 2023.
