Napoli set €60m Koulibaly price for Real Madrid

Real Madrid and coach Carlo Ancelotti want Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Repubblica, but Napoli won’t go below their €60m asking price.

The Merengues need a new and experienced defender after selling Raphael Varane to Manchester United.

Koulibaly is naturally one of the first names that former Napoli coach Ancelotti would consider for his team.

Current boss Luciano Spalletti confirmed this week that “everyone is on the market” for the right price, including the Senegal international centre-back.

However, Repubblica newspaper note that Napoli will not drop below the €60m asking price.

There’s no need to sell him, and he is under contract at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona until June 2023.

The 30-year-old has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Manchester City and Everton.

In the latter case, it’s because their coach Rafa Benitez was the one who first brought Koulibaly to Napoli in a deal worth €7.75m from KRC Genk in 2014.
