Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly tests  positive for COVID-19

 

Napoli have confirmed defender Kalidou Koulibaly has tested positive for coronavirus.

Coach Gennaro Gattuso has lost another fundamental players, as the latest swab tests have revealed the Senegalese defender has COVID-19.

Koulibaly is asymptomatic but placed in isolation.

“After the swabs carried out this morning, Kalidou Koulibaly has tested positive for COVID-19,” the statement read.

“The player is asymptomatic and will observe a period of isolation at his home.”

Meanwhile Federal Prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné continues the investigation into the verbal brawl between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku.

La Repubblica reports the Proesutor has scheduled a hearing for both Ibrahimovic and Lukaku in the next few hours, to explain what happened during the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup.

The newspaper claims the pair risk an extension of the suspension, currently one match each in the Coppa Italia, that could run over to the League too.
