Nasarawa Utd coach vows to maintain  winning streak in NPFL series

Nasarawa United coach, Bala Nikyu, is confident that nothing will stop the team’s winning streak in the Nigeria Professional Football League series after their 1-0 win over Katsina United on Sunday.

Although the team fought very hard to grab the maximum points they are not relenting to maintain the momentum in the local league.

The win means Nasarawa United are the only unbeaten team in the NPFL after matchday five.

It was a close game with few opportunities for both teams, but the Solid Miners managed to walk away with the maximum points after breaking the deadlock in the 49th minute.

Silas Nwankwo grabbed the winner for the home side with a fine finish from inside the penalty area.

In a bid to get the second goal, Nasarawa United coach Bala Nikyu replaced the duo of Chinedu Ohanachom and Ibrahim Aliyu with Hassan and King Osanga respectively in the 70th minute.

However, the changes failed to make the necessary impact in the game but the Solid Miners did well to see out the three points.

Katsina United have now failed to gain a point away from home this season.

Nasarawa United now sit second in the table with 11 points, a point behind leaders Rivers United.
