NBBF condoles with Nigeria Police, Ogabas

 

Engr Musa Kida has condoled with the Nigerian Police Force and the Ogabas over the death of Unazi Abraham Ogaba who died recently after a brief illness as they described the death as baffling.

Nigeria Basketball Federation leadership said despite the unfortunate news, they will take solace in his service to his country and humanity through basketball development while he was alive.

“This is very sad news to hear. He was seen in the basketball circle shortly before his demise after he was reportedly sick for a few days. This is shocking to say the least. The landmark achievements he recorded with the Nigerian Police teams (IGP Queens and Police Baton) cannot be forgotten in a hurry”.

Enumerating some of the late Assistant Superintendent of Police impacts, Kida noted that he spearheaded the renovation and commission of the basketball court within the Police College in Ikeja which has continued to serve as a meeting point for old and young basketballers.

Candle light procession was held on Wednesday, 16 of March with the NBBF represented by its South West zonal representative, Olumide Oyedeji while wake keep was at his Lagos residence on Thursday, 17, March.

According to the burial arrangement announced by the family, the late Ogaba who died aged 52 will be buried in his ancestral home, Igumale, Ado Local Government Area of Benue State on Saturday, 19 of March.

“Though we grieve, we will still remain grateful to God for the time he spent with us on this divide and we will continue to remember him fondly”, Kida noted.

“He was a father to many, mentor and friend to others within and outside the basketball fraternity. We pray for the repose of his gentle soul. We will also remember his immediate and extended families in our prayers as we pray for God to grant them the fortitude to bear this unfortunate loss”.
