Ndidi, Omeruo, Etebo named in World Cup best eliminated XI

Nigeria’s Super Eagles may have crashed out of the FIFA World Cup but the contributions of some of its players did not go unnoticed.

London based football website WhoScored.com  has picked the trio of Kenneth Omeruo, Oghenekaro Etebo and Wilfred Ndidi on its World Cup best eliminated x1.

The website selected players that made huge impression with their countries despite being eliminated from the competition at the group stage.

A breakdown showed that Omeruo’s inclusion was linked to his assist that led to Nigeria’s second goal scored by Ahmed Musa against Iceland which pushed his rating to 7.16.

For Etebo, his solid displays in the midfield, 17 attempted dribbles. 14 tackles and interceptions gave him a rating of 7.49, while Ndidi made the cut with an impressive rating of 7.79.The three players featured in all the three group matches.
