New Afcon host would determine where Eagles will camp–Rohr

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has told Sportinglife.ng exclusively that he has submitted his 2019 Africa Cup of Nations’ report to the Nigeria Football Federation Friday last week.

The Franco-German Coach in a chat with Sportinglife.ng from his base in France however stated that there may be changes in the program as soon as the Confederation of African football (CAF) eventually names the new host of the tournament since the initial host Cameroon was stripped of the hosting due to inadequate facilities needed to host the competition.

Sportinglife.ng learnt that the African football governing body CAF is considering choosing between South Africa and Morocco to host next year’s AFCON edition.

Rohr also said that naming the new host for the tournament on time would help in the vital decisions of Camp site and preparation of the team as regards weather.

The Coach also revealed that he had already submitted the match reports of the last two matches played by the Eagles which included AFCON qualifying match against South Africa which qualified Nigeria for next year’s competition and the International friendly match between host the Super Eagles of Nigeria and visiting Uganda national team which ended in a draw.

” I have already submitted the match reports for the Eagles’ last two matches against South Africa and Uganda. They are very important going forward in Eagles preparation for next year’s AFCON”, Rohr disclosed to Sportinglife.ng from France.
