New Year Moves: Premier league clubs eye Chukwueze,Solanke

Crystal Palace and Leicester City can hardly wait to have the duo of Samuel Chukwueze and Dominic Solanke in their plans as soon as the new transfer season opens.

While Chukwueze who plays for Spanish side Villareal is on the radar of Leicester City, Solanke is being given close marking by Crystal Palace.

According to the Leicester Mercury, both Arsenal and Leicester City are keen to have Chukwueze in the January transfer window with Atletico Madrid equally in the race to land the winger.

The 19 year old has so far scored four goals in 13 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish side. Should the Abia state born player eventually join Leicester or Arsenal he will be at home as both clubs have compatriots Wilifred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi respectively in their current squads.

Chukwueze made his debut for the Super Eagles in a friendly match against Uganda played at the Stephen keshi stadium Asaba in November.  The highly entertaining game however ended in a goalless draw.

As for Solanke Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed the club’s interest in the 21 year old that has made about 21 appearances for Liverpool since joining the club in 2017. Aside from Palace however premier league new comers Brighton & Hove and Huddersfield Town are also said to be interested.

”We have got to try to make certain we can bring him on loan. It’s not a secret it’s a target,” Hodgson told the media on Sunday.

”He is will provide an attacking threat, he has scored through the age groups at Chelsea and England and he can show he can transfer that in Premier League football.

”We know him better from his England days, it was a very good signing from Liverpool’s point of view but he is being kept out of the side by some very good players. It isn’t a criticism or negative of him,” he added.

”I don’t want to go into details, because I haven’t been doing the deal. You have to speak to Steve Parrish. He has given about the fact, but I don’t want to go into more detail.”
