Neymar expresses sadness over continuous rough tackles

Neymar has expressed his sadness, pain and frustration in an emotional message on social media after he was ruled out for a month through injury.

The Brazilian forward suffered a grade two tear in the adductor muscle in his left leg during Paris Saint-Germain’s Coupe de France clash against Caen on Wednesday night.

It means the 29-year-old will miss PSG’s upcoming Champions League round of 16 clash against former club Barcelona next week, as well as Ligue 1 fixtures against Nice, Monaco, Dijon and Bordeaux.

Neymar, who only returned from an ankle injury last month, has since opened up about his latest injury on Instagram.

one rough tackle too many

In a detailed post translated by Spanish publication AS, the former Santos forward spoke about the “sadness” he feels when people call him names, as well as being “constantly hit’ during games.

“I’m very sad, the pain is immense,” Neymar wrote.

“Once again I will have to stop doing what I love most in life for a while, which is playing football. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable because of the way I play, I dribble and I end up getting fouled constantly.

“I don’t know if it’s me or what I do on the pitch that is the problem. It really saddens me.

“It makes me sad to hear a player, a coach, a commentator or whoever say “you really have to hit him”, “he’s a diver”, “he’s a cry baby”, “he’s a child”, “he’s spoiled”, etc.
