“Happy birthday to you, @alexiwobi, #BIG17 is 22 today,” Arsenal wrote on its official twitter handle.
Fans of the Nigerian international who is the nephew of ex-international, Austin Okocha have also been congratulating the ex-Hale Academy player just as they wished him good luck ahead of tonight’s UEFA Europa semi final clash against Atletico Madrid.
Iwobi is expected to be in action after missing the first leg at the Emirates.
Obviously grateful for seeing this day, Iwobi posted a picture of him as a kid in Arsenal colours which was accompanied with a message that read, “+1 grateful.”
Victory for the Gunners would be a perfect gift for Iwobi who was cleared for the match some days back after overcoming an hamstring injury.
Recalled Iwobi’s goal against Zambia last October secured Nigeria’s qualification to its sixth FIFA World Cup finals in Russia.
