NFF Election: Maigari gets Provisional Clearance over alleged certificate forgery

Chairman 2018 Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) Electoral Committee, Muhammed Sani Katu has said that
the committee has reached a decision to hand over a provisional clearance to Aminu Maigari ahead of the upcoming NFF’s election.

Maigari is one of the four candidates contesting for the presidency alongside incumbent Amaju Pinnick,
who is also the 1st Vice President of CAF, Taiwo Ogunjobi, former Nigeria international defender and
Chinedu Okoye, proprietor of amateur league club, Bimo FC.

Muhammed Sani speaking to Brila Fm on Wednesday said, “We received some petitions against Maigari for
certificate forgery and submission same for the purpose of the screening conducted by the electoral
committee”.

“The petition which Maigari received on Sept. 15 was all across the documents (i.e. Two Grade three
certificates) he submitted for clearance, we decided to give him a provisional clearance which of
course he can still go and confess subject to the situation of the appealing committee.

“There will be an appeal committee which Maigari he has to face today in which the committee must meet
today and hear whatever Maigari has to say otherwise what he said he may not be able to contest
tomorrow’s election.

The NFF’s 2018-2022 executive committee election is likely to hold on Thursday in Katsina.
