Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation Technical Study Group Alhaji Aba Yola has advised the Super Eagles to redouble their efforts and work very hard on the field of play in their last group D match against Argentina to make qualification for the second round of the 2018 World Cup a reality.

“I would say that improved commitment and good performance on the part of the players which was also supported by Nigerians’ prayers gave us that victory. The day was remarkably ours”, Yola told SportingLife.ng in Volgograd.

He warned the Eagles to be cautious while playing Argentina on Tuesday. “As the Super Eagles take on Argentina on Tuesday I believe the watch word is caution.

“The Eagles must avoid physical contacts and hard tackles within the red one areas. I am sure the Iceland win will not get into their heads,so the issue of complacency will not arise.

“Not only to football followers or mathematician’s even me and you know the Super Eagles have not secured a place in the group of 16 yet.

“In this situation a point could be all that is needed to qualify to the next stage. Remember we came back into the game on Friday so what makes you think that Argentina cannot also come back.

And knowing fully well they are inching towards disaster will surely make them come out smoking against our Super Eagles.

“We shall continue to urge the team to put in their very best while asking Nigerian’s to back them with prayers. and together we shall overcome Argentina and move glowingly into the group of 16 standing”.
